Three Treasures – Chi

Qi Formula~ Vitality… Qi (Energy) and Blood

2nd Treasure: 2nd Treasure: Chi is simply the body’s daily energy needs. Chi is the flame that nurtures and gives life to Jing. Chi is the force which protects our Jing reserves and provides the spark for metabolism. We attain Chi through the consumption, digestion and metabolism of food substances. Chi is the transformation of the foods we eat into energy. Processed foods are mainly deficient in Chi, and do not support Jing. Consuming primarily these foods, one may not acquire Chi, and may begin dipping into Jing to get through the day, leading over time to exhaustion and a general devitalization. Our herbal chocolate is fuel, high in Chi, which helps step up our body’s ability to remove unwanted accumulations and fluids. The Chi herbs in this chocolate tonify the spleen, which the Chinese consider to be the ‘governor’ of our metabolism. Spleen Chi and blood building herbs like White Atractylodes, Poria, Codonopsis, Cinnamon Twig and Jujube help activate the spleen’s function in rendering food into energy, and also helping attain the minerals from food and render iron assimilable for the blood.

The concept of the ‘Three Treasures’ arose out of China three millennia ago, and represents the primary health philosophy of Taoist herbalism today. This ancient and ultra-spohisticated health philosophy was used exclusively by the elite of ancient China and has only recently become known in the west, primarily due to the efforts of Master Herbalist Ron Teeguarden, who then taught our herbalist Rehmannia Dean Thomas. The Three Treasures ideology has been refined into a very simple system of health evaluation which can be understood by anyone, yet, it is also possibly the most penetrating to the core foundations of health maintenance.
